:: COMPANY HISTORY ::

Call America's history is more than 20 years in the making. In 1983, a company that would eventually be named Call America, entered the telecommunications industry that had just changed due to the break up of AT&T. From its local beginnings, Call America grew to serve businesses throughout California and was eventually purchased by GST Telecom. The assets of GST were purchased by Time Warner Telecom. In 2002, Jeff Buckingham formed Anew Telecommunications Corporation DBA Call America. Call America was coupled with its parent Utility Telephone in 2005 as part of an effort to expand its services and build a statewide network. Utility Telephone is based in Stockton and together with Call America, provides business phone, internet, and data service to customers throughout California and into Nevada. The past few years have been growth years for both Call America and Utility Telephone with added staffing and extensive network expansions.
